What are Recognitions?
Recognitions are the heart of the platform - they're public acknowledgments of your colleagues' contributions, aligned with company values and backed by points.
Giving Recognition
When to Recognize
Recognize colleagues when they:
- Go above and beyond their role
- Demonstrate company values
- Help team members
- Achieve significant milestones
- Show exceptional work quality
- Contribute to team success
Recognition Components
Every recognition includes:
- Recipient: The person being recognized
- Company Value: The value they demonstrated
- Message: Your description of what they did
- Points: Tangible reward from your allowance
- Attachments (optional): Supporting media
Creating a Recognition
- Navigate to the dashboard
- Click the recognition input box
- Fill in all required fields:
- Select recipient
- Choose company value
- Write meaningful message
- Assign points (1-100 typically)
- Add attachments if relevant
- Review and click "Give Points"
Writing Effective Messages
Structure your recognition:
- What: Describe the specific action
- How: Explain how they did it
- Impact: Share the positive outcome
Example:
"John led the Q4 planning session with incredible organization. He created a detailed agenda, facilitated productive discussions, and ensured everyone's voice was heard. Thanks to his leadership, we aligned on our goals 2 weeks ahead of schedule!"
Point Allocation Guidelines
Consider these factors when assigning points:
- Impact: How significant was the contribution?
- Effort: How much work did it require?
- Scope: Did it affect the team, department, or company?
- Timing: Was it urgent or time-sensitive?
Typical Allocations:
- Small helpful actions: 5-10 points
- Significant contributions: 20-50 points
- Major achievements: 50-100 points
Adding Attachments
Enhance your recognition with:
- Images: Screenshots, photos of achievements
- Videos: Recorded messages, project demos
- Documents: Reports, presentations
Supported formats:
- Images: JPG, PNG, GIF
- Videos: MP4, MOV
- Documents: PDF, DOCX, XLSX
File size limits:
- Images: Up to 10MB
- Videos: Up to 50MB
- Documents: Up to 20MB
Receiving Recognition
Notifications
You'll be notified when you receive a recognition via:
- In-app notifications
- Email (if enabled)
- Mobile push notifications (if enabled)
Viewing Your Recognitions
Access all recognitions you've received:
- Go to your Profile
- Click "Recognitions Received" tab
- Filter by date, value, or giver
Responding to Recognition
When you receive a recognition:
- Thank the giver: Comment to show appreciation
- Share it: Amplify the recognition
- Reflect: Consider how to continue demonstrating that value
